Updates from July 8, 2026

Updates from July 5, 2026

  • Changed the Sessions summary cards to Active, Ended, and Favorites so completed sessions no longer appear under a confusing Open Sessions heading.
  • Moved Archived into the Filter menu for old, duplicate, test, or irrelevant sessions while keeping normal ended sessions in regular history, search, stats, and review.
  • Tightened the bottom navigation sizing so the new center action is less oversized while still staying clear of page content.
  • Updated the bottom navigation to match the cleaner mockup: Home highlights by itself, the center action is labeled New Session under the blue plus button, and the inactive tabs are quieter.

  • Changed the top-right header button into a Settings shortcut, keeping Start as the single main new-session action in the bottom nav.
  • Removed Settings from the More drawer so the menu stays focused on the broader app destinations.
  • Polished All Sessions with sleeker filter cards, aligned search/filter/sort controls, thinner session cards, smaller metadata text, note-count pills, and simpler Open / More actions.
  • Tightened the All Sessions cards again by moving the favorite star beside the note count, shrinking Filter and Sort to give Search more room, removing the mood emoji, and hiding extra format details that usually belong in the title now.
  • On phones, pressing the system Back button from a session now returns to the page you opened it from instead of closing the app.
  • Reduced All Sessions text sizing across the page and put the favorite star back in the top-right, aligned with the session title.
  • Made the More drawer handle swipeable so dragging it downward closes the menu, tightened the drawer down against the bottom bar, and added native Android back-button handling so Back closes More first or returns to the previous Chalkboard page instead of exiting the app.
  • Strengthened the Android system Back button again so it uses Chalkboard’s own in-app navigation stack, falls back to All Sessions when history is unclear, and never closes the app from normal app screens.
  • Made Android Back feel more native on All Sessions: tap once to see “Press back again to exit,” then tap again right away to leave the app.
  • Added a clearer colored border and subtle glow around the selected Open, Archived, or Favorites session filter card.

  • Player Profile can now connect to FargoRate more naturally: search by name, pick the right player when names overlap, auto-refresh stale ratings once a day when you open Profile, and still gives you a small Sync Now backup when you want to check immediately.
  • The New Session Start and Favorite actions now stay above the bottom navigation, so they remain easy to reach after you fill in a setup.
  • Profile pictures are now cleaner and more flexible: the avatar stays circular in the top bar and on Player Profile, the picker opens only when you tap your picture, Player/Chalk/Shark/Cues use cache-busted borderless artwork without the gray fill, built-in choices update live without closing the picker, and custom uploads can be positioned before saving.
  • Added APA 8-ball and 9-ball skill levels so your profile can reflect both league systems you care about.
  • Favorite Room now fills itself from where you write the most notes, giving your profile a little more personality without extra setup.
  • Stats & Insights now shows Fargo and APA movement for the date range you choose, making it easier to see whether your game is trending up, holding steady, or slipping.

  • Adjusted Aim Line coaching guides so the ghost ball is smaller and the tangent guide starts from the ghost-ball center instead of the edge.

  • Renamed the menu link for starred takeaways from Notes to Favorites so it no longer sounds like the place to create notes.
  • Added temporary crosshair placement guides in the table editor while dragging or positioning balls, made them easier to see, then hides them after placement so saved diagrams stay clean.
  • Changed the table editor finish control to CB Finish / Move Finish and made the cue-ball finish marker look like a translucent cue ball instead of relying on text.
  • Changed mobile table sharing to share PNG image files directly instead of a ZIP/file URL path, so texting apps can appear in the Android share sheet.
  • Made Save Table the clear primary action, moved Export/Share/Delete Shot into More, and expanded CB Finish to Cue Ball Finish when there is room.

  • Restored regular Line Mode and moved the ghost-ball/contact/tangent/angle guides into a separate Aim Line option that starts from the cue ball and updates live as you drag.
  • Changed the table editor top controls to a horizontal tool row with the selected tool options below it, giving Draw Line / Aim Line and the ball tray more room.
  • Adjusted Aim Line so the object-ball path projects outward from the hit side instead of drawing a guide through the object ball.
  • Removed the extra Aim Line endpoint marker and stops the temporary cue-ball aim guide at the hit point once it finds an object ball, so it no longer suggests the cue ball keeps traveling through the shot.
  • Changed Aim Line tangent guides to show only the cue-ball travel side of the tangent and removed the extra center-to-contact guide line.
